Dr. Rick Williamson artfully adapts research supported psychotherapy techniques to fit each client’s unique need. He is trained in dynamic therapy, as well as in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), proven effective for a variety of emotional issues.
Committed to understanding the whole person, Dr. Williamson brings a deep understanding of how life situations, culture and beliefs impact a person’s psyche and wellbeing. His areas of specialty include assessment and treatment of mood problems, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personal growth and development, organizational consulting, and psychological testing.
Dr. Williamson received specialized training in psychopharmacology research and understands how environmental factors and medications augment and impact psychological treatment across various cultures and ethnicities. With this knowledge, he works with clients to help them deepen, grow and obtain their goals.
Gaining knowledge in the process of integrating the psyche with faith, Dr. Williamson conducts psychological assessments for clergy and consults with other organizations to help them create cultures that enhance the emotional health and vitality of their personnel.
Dr. Williamson earned a (B.A.) from Princeton University; and a (M.A.) in Theology and (Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology from the Fuller Graduate School of Psychology. He performed his Clinical Psychology Internship at Howard University and APA Post-doctoral Research Fellowship at UCLA.
